CNBC is teaming up with NBA superstar LeBron James’ and Maverick Carter’s production company, SpringHill Entertainment, and Magical Elves for a new unscripted series set in Cleveland, Ohio called Cleveland Hustles. The series, set to debut in summer 2016, will feature James and longtime pal/business partner Carter enlisting the aid of four business experts to invest in and mentor fledgling entrepreneurs who need a jumpstart. In success, these four businesses will provide jobs and services for neighborhoods that desperately need investment.

The show begins production “in earnest” in about a month, CNBC EVP Primetime Alternative Jim Ackerman said today at TCA.  The series “creates an opportunity to help strengthen communities that have fallen on hard times,” Ackerman pitched to TV critics.

James and Carter are executive producers for SpringHill Entertainment and Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz are executive producers for Magical Elves.
