The backfield’s in motion for sports marketing. The latest development: Creative Artists Agency’s CAA Sports just acquired London-based sports marketing agency brandrapport.

The 25-employee group specializes in sports corporate consulting and “experiential” marketing. Its client list includes Allianz, Jaguar Land Rover, Nestle, Prudential, and Samsung. Andy Kenny, who had been Managing Director, is now Head of CAA Sports Consulting under Global Head Greg Luckman.

The companies didn’t disclose financial terms.

“Corporate consulting is a growth area for CAA Sports, and in the four years since we moved into this space, we have assembled an industry-leading team of sports marketing executives who work on behalf of more than 30 iconic global brands,” Luckman says. Brandrapport’s “world-class service will yield tremendous results for our clients.”

This is CAA Sports’ fourth acquisition over the last eight months. Last year it picked up corporate hospitality firms Goviva and Beyond Sports & Entertainment, as well as consumer products licensing agency Fermata Partners, and player agent Todd France’s 5 Star Athlete Management.

CAA says it now reps more than 130 NFL athletes. CAA Sports Consulting, created in October 2011, is involved with more than $2 billion in sponsorship rights deals.

Today’s sports marketing announcement follows one last week from Dalian Wanda Group-controlled Infront Sports & Media. It bought 51% of Omnigon — a consulting firm that helps sports, media and entertainment providers to develop mobile apps and websites.
