At more than 21 minutes, Fox’s latest behind-the-scenes promo for its upcoming event series The X-Files dropped this morning. It’s sure to get longtime fans riled up as creator Chris Carter, original stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, and newcomers like Joel McHale are among the talking heads dishing about the return of the sci-fi staple.

Among the interesting parts of this: Carter salivating over placing Mulder and Scully fully in a post-9/11 world (the original show ended in May 2002): Issues like drones and surveillance technology that were conspiracy theories in the series’ first days are now commonplace, which might take even Mulder by surprise.

The six-episode series debuts with a two-night event beginning January 24 after the NFC Championship Game, and continues with its time-period premiere the Monday, January 25 at 8 PM.
