Last night’s holiday edition of Saturday Night Live, with hosts Tina Fey & Amy Poehler and musical guest Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, drew a 5.1 rating in the metered market households and a 2.6 among adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters. Former SNL stars Fey and Poehler, who brought back their Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton impersonations, couldn’t quite match Donald Trump’s hosting gig earlier this fall, which netted a 6.6 HH rating and a 2.7 in 18-49, but the dynamic duo lifted ratings from last week (3.8, 1.8) and from SNL’s season average (+28% in HH, +30% in 18-49) to post the second best result of the season as well as the past 22 months.

The overnight ratings are expected to further rise in delayed viewing as SNL has been growing by +49% on average this season from live plus same day ratings to live plus seven day in 18-49 and by +2.2 million viewers overall.
