Producers Ian Sander and Kim Moses (Ghost Whisperer, Reckless, Profiler) have signed a first-look deal with NBC Universal International TV Studios. Under the agreement, the duo will develop and produce procedural dramas under the studio’s deal with France’s TF1 and Germany’s RTL for U.S.-style, English-language procedurals in North America.

Outside that pact, Sander Moses has sold two new dramas: Queen Charlotte to Amazon and Power to ABC.

charlotteWritten by Tina Andrews (The Sallie Hemmings Story: An American Scandal), explores the theory that the German-born British queen was a Moor hiding her color, along with a famous lover, and a relic the Vatican desperately wants. Her husband, King George III, loves a mistress he can’t marry, is losing the Seven Years War, and fending off secret enemies within Buckingham Palace. Andrews previously wrote and directed the play, Buckingham, and the book of the same name about Queen Charlotte.

Amazon_Studios1.jpg.644x300_q100“Tina Andrew’s Queen Charlotte has everything we need to be culturally relevant – wealth gap, race, sex, music, celebrity, set against a giant canvas in a dramatic time that parallels today, which is why it belongs on Amazon and we’re very grateful for this opportunity,” said Moses, who executive produces the project with Sander and Andrews, a WGA Award winner for Sally Hemmings.

abclogoABC’s Power is described as a lavish primetime soap of passion, greed and hope set in the alternate reality of Steampunk – Circa 2016 – telling the story of two rival families battling for power and the woman who takes them down. Michael Cooney (Identity) is writing the script and will executive produce with Sander and Moses. This is a re-teaming of Cooney and Sander/Moses whose drama Runner went to pilot at ABC last year, landing Paula Patton for the lead.

Sander/Moses, Andrews and Cooney are repped by UTA.
