A day after NBC’s Sunday Night Football hit a season low with the Minnesota Vikings’ blowout victory over the New York Giants, ESPN’s Monday Night Football hit a season high with the far more competitive matchup between the Denver Broncos and Cincinnati Bengals. The game, won by the Broncos 20-17 in overtime, drew a 10.5 overnight rating. In Cincinnati, the game delivered a 15.6 rating on ESPN and a 28.6 on WLWT-NBC, for a combined 44.2 rating in the market. In Denver, the game delivered a 17.7 rating on ESPN and a 24.3 on KTVD-IND, for a combined 42.0 rating.
This marked a major ratings rebound for MNF after last week’s Detroit Lions-New Orleans Saints face-off slipped to a 7.4 rating to match a season low. Monday fast nationals for the broadcast networks have been delayed.
