“People give me their money and I make them richer than God.” Those words spoken by Oscar winner Richard Dreyfuss as disgraced financier Bernie Madoff as he explains how he masterminded the biggest Ponzi scheme in U.S. history. We’re getting the first look at ABC’s miniseries Madoff in the trailer dropped today by ABC.

“You want to know how to get people to trust you with their money?” he says in the minute-long clip. “You present it as an exclusive thing. Nothing on Earth makes people want something more than telling them they can’t have it.”

Inspired by ABC News chief investigative correspondent Brian Ross’ reports and his book The Madoff Chronicles, Madoff chronicles the rise and spectacular fall of the imprisoned swindler and the $65 billion Ponzi scheme he concocted. Blythe Danner co-stars as Madoff’s wife Ruth. Cast also includes Tom Lipinski, Danny Deferrari and Lyne Renee. Charles Grodin and Lewis Black also appear. Raymond De Felitta directs and Ben Robbins is the writer. Linda Berman and Joe Pichirallo executive produce.
