We knew that Jean-Marc Vallée would be directing multiple episodes of limited series Big Little Lies starring Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, and now HBO has confirmed he will helm all seven episodes. In addition, Vallée will executive produce the series with his producing partner Nathan Ross.

Big Little Lies will be an adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s 2014 darkly comic novel about three mothers of kindergartners –Celeste (Kidman), Madeline (Witherspoon) and Jane — whose apparently perfect lives unravel to the point of murder. The book was optioned by Kidman’s Blossom Films and Witherspoon’s Pacific Standard. Laura Dern, Adam Scott, Zoë Kravitz and Kathryn Newton co-star.

Vallee’s other directing credits include Dallas Buyers Club and Wild, which starred Witherspoon and Dern, and most recently Demolition starring Jake Gyllenhaal. Vallée and Ross are repped by attorney David Weber.
