Confirming that British rock’n’rollers Coldplay will perform the half-time show at February 7th’s 50th Super Bowl, frontman Chris Martin said it was “the greatest moment” in his career and the band was “excited and honored and thrilled” to be taking part. A record 118.5 million viewers in the U.S. alone watched Katy Perry perform at the most recent Super Bowl.

Coldplay’s artistic director Phil Harvey teased there would be a special guest without elaborating. “We are going to give it everything we have,” added Martin in a video to promote the announcement.
