The Berlin Film Festival has unveiled the first titles in its Panorama sidebar. Among the films selected are Rebecca Miller’s Maggie’s Plan, starring Greta Gerwig, Ethan Hawke and Julianne Moore, receiving its European premiere, as well as the world premiere of John Michael McDonagh’s War on Everyone, starring Michael Pena, Alexander Skarsgard and Theo James. Writer David Farr makes his feature directorial with The Ones Below, starring Clemence Poesy and David Morrissey.

Other selections include Olivier Ducastel and Jacques Martineau’s Théo et Hugo dans le même bateau (Paris 05:59), Bouli Lanners’ Les Premiers, les Derniers (The First, the Last), Zrinko Ogresta’s S one strane (On the Other Side, Udi Aloni’s Junction 48, Tomáš Weinreb and Petr Kazka’s Já, Olga Hepnarová (I, Olga Hepnarová), Elita Zexer’s Sand Storm. Moroccan filmmaker Hicham Lasri returns to the Berlinale with Starve your Dog while Ghana can boast of its first fiction feature at Berlin with Kelly Daniela Norris and TW Pittman’s Nakom.

As previously reported, next year’s edition kicks off with the Coen Bros’ all-star Hail, Caesar! on February 11.
