The Television Academy is partnering with producer Got Your 6 on Storytellers, the Veterans Day-timed event that helps to put the spotlight on veterans’ issues. For the first time, the event will be held on both coasts, Thursday, November 5 in New York, and Tuesday, November 10 in Los Angeles.
Got Your 6 Storytellers showcases veterans utilizing their unique skill-set and military experience to strengthen communities across America, while also celebrating the producers and creators working to tell those stories. The Television Academy is participating in an effort to increase awareness of the Got Your 6 campaign among television creators, writers, producers, studio and network executives, and performers.
“The Got Your 6 Storytellers events align with the Television Academy’s mission to foster diverse voices and narratives on television,” said Television Academy President and COO Maury McIntyre. “These events represent a dynamic platform on which to connect veterans with the creative community, with the goal of inspiring television that explores the stories of the men and women of the military in thought-provoking and meaningful ways.”
The Got Your 6 Storytellers East event, will be held at the HBO Theatre in New York, and feature Oscar-winning producer Bruce Cohen (American Beauty, Silver Linings Playbook) Marine veteran and actor J.W. Cortes (Gotham), and Army veteran Danielle Green, among others. The Los Angeles event will be held at Paramount Pictures Studios’ Sherry Lansing Theatre and will feature Charlie Ebersol, CEO and founder of The Company, and former Seattle Seahawks player Nate Boyer, among others.
