EXCLUSIVE: The Firm’s newly launched film division has acquired Supermoms, a pitch for a raucous comedy that will be scripted by Amanda Blue Peterson. The ambition is Bridesmaids meets Kick-Ass, as four new mothers who meet in a new mommy group bond together to team up to right society’s injustices – large and small – faced by new mothers just like them. Amanda Blue Peterson and Tessa Benson will produce with The Firm’s film president Robbie Brenner and CEO Jeff Kwatinetz. Benson is the West Coast Editor of Self Magazine and a contributing writer for Architectural Digest, while Peterson was an exec at Myriad Pictures and Lotus Entertainment.
Supermoms marks the second project to take root at The Firm since Brenner joined as film president/partner, coming on the heels of the Jennifer Garner/Maika Monroe-starrer Tribes of Palos Verdes. Brenner developed that at Relativity, and The Firm will see it through with a February start date set for Los Angeles.
