Paramount/Skydance/Bad Robot’s Star Trek Beyond will be released in Imax worldwide when it hits theaters on July 22, 2016. The last two Star Trek films which were directed by J.J. Abrams and focused on the original crew in an altered timeline were also released in Imax. Combined, Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness count $850M in global grosses.

Abrams stepped back from the director’s chair for the third title in the latest reboot, with Justin Lin taking over the reigns. The whole cast is back with Jon Cho, Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoë Saldana, Karl Urban and Anton Yelchin. Idris Elba, Sofia Boutella, Lydia Wilson and Joe Taslim have come aboard for the third-go-round.

“Imax provides a one-of-a-kind movie going experience to audiences all over the world,” said Lin in a statement. “I am excited to bring the newest journey into the Star Trek universe to its screens.”
