Make sure there’s room on the ol’ DVR if you’re hitting a Saturday-before-Christmas party. NBC said today that alums Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are teaming to host Saturday Night Live on December 19 with a musical act you might have heard about: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.
But that’s not all: Ryan Gosling will host the December 5 show, making his SNL debut the weekend before his film The Big Short opens. Leon Bridges is the musical guest. And Chris Hemsworth will mark his second hosting turn with the December 12 episode the day after his Ron Howard-helmed pic In The Heart Of The Sea hits theaters. Chance the Rapper supplies the tunes.
As for Fey and Poehler, their film Sisters goes to megaplexes a day before their hosting gig. Springsteen, whose making his third SNL appearance, has The Ties That Bind: The River Collection hitting stores in early December. Let’s see if he whips out a classic from that record and/or one of the outtakes from those prolific sessions that is set to appear on the new box set.
