Giddy up, Bronies. Hasbro and Lionsgate has announced that My Little Pony The Movie will trot into theaters on November 3, 2017. At this point in time, My Little Pony will face off with the Disney/Marvel sequel Thor: Ragnarok. 

Jayson Theissen is directing the film from Meghan McCarthy’s script. She was behind the My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic Hasbro series as EP. Back in June, McCarthy was named head of storytelling of Hasbro’s Girl brands.

My Little Pony The Movie will star the voices of Kristin Chenoweth alongside the Mane 6 characters voiced by Tara Strong, Cathy Weseluck, Andrea Libman, Tabitha St. Germain and Ashleigh Ball.  The movie will follow ponies Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Raritye commencing on a trek to save their home. Stephen Davis and Brian Goldner for Hasbro’s Allspark Pictures are producing.

My Little Pony toys and accessories rake in $650M annually. Hasbro credited My Little Pony as driving their 2014 girls’ sales by 2% to a $1.02B figure. The last big screen My Little Pony film was in 1986 and it grossed $6M. Danny DeVito, Tony Randall, Cloris Leachman and Madeline Kahn were among those providing voices.
