Momentum Pictures has acquired the worldwide distribution rights Milton’s Secret, the pic based on the children’s book co-authored by Eckhart Tolle. Donald Sutherland and Michelle Rodriguez star. It’s the latest pickup from Momentum, the label recently revived by Entertainment One.

Barnet Bain directed the film, which was penned by Bain, Donald Martin and Sara B. Cooper. It follows the life of young Milton (William Ainscough), who is bullied at school. His teacher (Rodriguez) does her best to uplift his spirits and inspire him under difficult circumstances, but it is his grandfather (Sutherland), a retired Force Recon Marine, who shows Milton the secret to finding true happiness. David Sutcliffe, Mia Kirshner and Sheila McCarthy co-star. Tolle and Robert S. Friedman penned the book.

The movie is produced by Buck Productions and Hulo Films. Sean Buckley, Riverside Entertainment’s Fred Fuchs and Stephen Huszar and Ryan Lockwood are producers.

Momentum Pictures has been active since rebooting via a multi-picture agreement with Orion Releasing to jointly acquire and distribute specialized multi-platform releases in the U.S. and select international territories. It recently picked up Westerns Diablo and Outlaws & Angels and the Sarah Jessica Parker romantic comedy All Roads Lead To Rome.

The Milton’s Secret deal was made by Larry Greenberg for Momentum and Buckley on behalf of Buck Productions.
