Days after leaving WME, lit agent Mike Esola has landed at UTA, in the agency’s motion picture literary department. He had a strong list of writers and directors, and is expected to bring many of them once the dust cleared.

As Deadline revealed last week, Esola decided to leave WME where he began his career in the mailroom in 2002. His clients at WME included directors David Robert Mitchell, Scott Waugh, Bryan Buckley, Dowdle Bros., Javier Gutierrez, Clay Kaytis, Tony Leondis, Mark Raso, Dave Rosenthal, Oren Peli, Jamie Travis; and writers Kurt Johnstad, Jon Herman, Paula Pell, TS Nowlin, Chad St. John, Cory Goodman, Michael McCullers, Alan Yang, Nick Weiss, Fybel & Rinaldi, Shaka King, Barrer & Ferrari, Susser & Robichaux, Deutschman & Pagan, Seth Owen and Rebecca Drysdale.

The move to UTA was just announced internally.

“Mike brings a great track record of discovering both important voices and material, and he’s a great addition to our team,” said David Kramer, UTA managing director and head of the motion picture literary department.
