Max Casella (Vinyl) has joined the cast of Live By Night, Warner Bros’ Prohibition-era crime drama that Ben Affleck is starring in, writing and directing. Affleck stars as Joe Coughlin (Affleck), the black-sheep son of a police captain who gets involved in escalating levels of organized crime. Casella will play Digger, the boorish and overly aggressive son of a mob boss who is a thorn in Coughlin’s side. Sienna Miller, Elle Fanning, Chris Messina and Zoe Saldana also co-star. Casella will play a music executive in HBO’s upcoming drama series Vinyl, and his recent feature credits include Oldboy, Blue Jasmine and Inside Llewyn Davis. Repped by Ellipsis Entertainment and Innovative Artists, the actor next hits the big screen in the ensemble holiday pic Christmas Eve.
Carice Van Houten (Game Of Thrones) has landed a role in Myriad Films’ drama The Parts You Lose for director Paula van der Oest. It centers on Wesley, a hearing-impaired boy who encounters an injured and potentially dangerous fugitive in his small North Dakota town. The two form an unlikely friendship, and Wesley finds an unexpected refuge from the troubles of his home and school life. Aaron Paul also stars in the pic, which is eyeing a spring shoot in Manitoba.
