The British PM has checked out under mysterious circumstances, and the world’s most important leaders are in London for his funeral. Then there’s an explosion or 30, and a news reader says, “An attack has decimated the British capital.” Now five countries immediately must look to succession plans, and “the American president is unaccounted for.” Welcome to the happy place that is London Has Fallen, the sequel to 2013’s Olympus Has Fallen. In that pic, the White House was attacked and taken over by terrorists; now it’s Great Britain’s turn in the cross hairs. A truly sinister bad guy wants to off the planet’s top leaders including America’s commander in chief –“We’re going to kill him slowly and broadcast it live,” he vows — but President Asher has an annoying habit of staying alive.

It’s Die Hard meets Air Force One over tea in London Has Fallen, which returns Aaron Eckhart as the U.S. President, Gerard Butler as his badass Secret Service chief and Morgan Freeman as Speaker of the House along with Radha Mitchell, Angela Bassett and Melissa Leo. Newcomers to the Millennium Films franchise include Charlotte Riley as an English MI-6 agent who trusts no one. Babak Najafi takes over directing duties from Antoine Fuqua, and Gramercy Pictures opens the film March 4 domestically. Watch the first trailer above, and let us know what you think.
