EXCLUSIVE: Oscar winner Kevin Spacey is in the process of setting up his next two movie roles, and they’re both with Ansel Elgort. Spacey is in final negotiations to join Baby Driver, Edgar Wright’s pic starring Elgort, Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx and Lily James. Spacey also has closed a deal to star in Billionaire Boys Club, directed by James Cox toplined by Elgort and Taron Egerton.

Baby Driver follows a crime boss who coerces a young, talented getaway driver (Elgort) to work for him. The kid relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best but must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom. Spacey would play the boss of the crew, a veteran criminal who has worked his way up the ladder to bigger and bigger scores with a stable of go-to professionals.

Wright will write and direct with his longtime collaborators — Working Title co-chiefs Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan — producing along with Nira Park through her Big Talk Productions. The film is being co-financed by MRC and TriStar, with TriStar handling worldwide distribution.

Gee. I wonder why.

Billionaire Boys Club stars Elgort and Taron Egerton. The script from Wonderland helmer Cox and Captain Mauzner centers on the true-life tale of Joe Hunt, who built an investment pool that made him the center of attention in L.A. in the 1980s. It also was built on fraud and schemes, and Hunt ended up murdering a Beverly Hills high-roller whose investment didn’t pan out.

Spacey would play that whale, Ron Levin (portrayed by Ron Silver in a 1987 NBC miniseries), the guy who represents the smart money and the fast lifestyle, rubbing elbows at Spago with Andy Warhol.

Cassian Elwes and Holly Wiersma are producing the pic financed by Armory Films. Armory’s Tim Zajaros and Chris Lemole are executive producing along with Crystal Lourd, Jere Hausfater and Logan Levy.

Spacey is up next on the big screen in Elvis And Nixon opposite Michael Shannon, and he’s shooting Season 4 of Netflix’s House Of Cards, which will premiere in 2016. He is repped by CAA, manager Joanne Horowitz and Hansen, Jacobsen.
