Kellan Lutz and Kelsey Grammer are joining Li Bingbing in the 3D creature feature Nest, in which they battle giant killer spiders in an ancient labyrinth. The project from Arclight Films genre label Darclight has begun pre-production in Australia. Lutz’s resume includes The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn 1 & 2 and Expendables 3. Grammer’s work, in addition to his iconic roles on TV’s Boss, Frasier and Cheers, includes features Transformers: Age Of Extinction and The Expendables 3. Li Bingbing appeared in Transformers: Age Of Extinction and Resident Evil: Retribution and Zhongkui: Snow Girl And The Dark Crystal on which Arclight has worldwide sales rights. Nest is produced in partnership with Beijing-based Loongs United Investment Company Ltd. Territories sold to date include Germany, Italy, Middle East, Turkey, India, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia and Laos.
Casting is underway for Chocolate City 2: Vegas Battle, Patriot Pictures CEO Michael Mendelsohn announced today at AFM. Production is slated to begin later this month. Chocolate City 2 continues the exploits of male stripper Pharoah (Ginuwine) who decides to take his act to Las Vegas. Writer-director Jean-Claude LaMarre returns in those capacities from the original film distributed by Viacom’s Paramount and BET. Michael (Robert Ri’chard), also from the original movie, hears about the Annual Las Vegas Exotic Dance Competition, prompting club owner owner (Michael Jai White) to reunite the Chocolate City crew in hopes of defeating Pharaoh’s corporate casino strip team and winning a million-dollar exotic-dance battle in Las Vegas. Vivica A. Fox returns as Michael’s mother.
