At some point after Nevermind became a hit, the members of Nirvana said that they knew they’d made it after Weird Al recorded a parody of one of their songs. Congratulations, softcore porn: Your moment has arrived. This is the trailer for Fifty Shades of Black, a parody (obviously) of Fifty Shades of Grey starring Marlon Wayans along with Kali Hawk, Mike Epps, Andrew Bachelor, Affion Crockett, Jane Seymour, Fred Willard and Florence Henderson. Also parodied: Magic Mike among, it can be assumed, many other films.

The gut reaction might be to dismiss this out of hand, given the state of movie parodies. But the truth is I laughed a lot, especially when the criminally underrated Epps (Survivor’s Remorse) shows up late in the trailer. You win, Fifty Shades of Black. I’m going to see it.

Michael Tiddes directs from a script by Wayans and Rick Alvarez. Open Road Films undresses Fifty Shades of Black in U.S. theaters on January 29.
