SSS Entertainment and Single Cell Pictures have moved forward on Class Rank, an offbeat indie comedy described as John Hughes meets Wes Anderson, to be directed by Erik Stoltz. Written by Ben August, the film follows two teenagers and two grandparents whose worlds are upended when love walks in the door. Olivia Holt has been cast in a lead role as “Veronica Krauss,” with other casting announcements coming soon.

SSS Entertainment’s Shaun Sanghani is producing alongside Sandy Stern of Single Cell, with August, Lee Broda, Jordan Yale Levine and Scott Levenson executive producing. Benjamin Bickham and Aimee Pestoni are co-producing. Class Rank shoots this winter in Alexandria, Louisiana.

Best known for playing Lindy Watson on the Disney Channel series I Didn’t Do It, Holt will be seen this April in Paramount’s Same Kind Of Different opposite Renee Zellweger. She’s repped by Princapto-Young Entertainment, Paradigm, and Morris Yorn Barnes Levine Krintzman Rubenstein Kohner & Gellman. Eric Stoltz is repped by UTA and Landmark Artists.
