Anomalisa has been blowing minds right and left this year, debuting at Telluride and soon after in competition at the Venice Film Festival, where it won the grand jury prize. Now the rest of us can get a look at the ripped-from-Charlie Kaufman’s brain stop-motion animated story about an isolated writer who pens customer service manuals whose chance meeting with a stranger changes his entire worldview. The film hits theaters December 30, and the official trailer, which debuted this morning exclusively for people who backed the film’s initial kickstarter, has now been released into the wild. Watch it here, and be wowed.

Directed by Charlie Kaufman and Duke Johnson from a script by Kaufman, Paramount is distributing. Kaufman, Johnson, Rosa Tran and Dino Stamatopoulos produced.
