Wanted: A young Nicki Minaj to star in ABC Family’s upcoming comedy series based on the rapper’s life.

ABC Family (Freeform beginning in January) is holding online open auditions for a talented girl between the ages of 11-13 to play the younger version of the multiplatinum rapper and ex-American Idol judge. Minaj will executive produce the half-hour single-camera series, which received a series commitment order in September, based on her family’s immigration from Trinidad in the early 1990s. The show will focus on Minaj’s childhood in Queens and the personal and musical evolution that led to her eventual rise to stardom. The series will shoot in New York.

To access the script and upload audition video, download the free Disney Applause app, select “ABC Family’s Online Open Call” and follow instructions. All materials will be accepted through November 15.
