Lionsgate has dropped the first UK trailer for Pride And Prejudice And Zombies, adapted from Seth Grahame-Smith’s parody novel, a mash-up of Jane Austen’s classic novel with flesh-eating zombies. Lily James narrates at the beginning, “To succeed in polite society, a young woman must be many things… kind, well-read and accomplished. But to survive in the world as we know it, she’ll need other qualities”. Trust me, being meek isn’t one of them.

The Burt Steers-directed pic follows Elizabeth Bennet (Lily James) and her sisters Lydia (Ellie Bamber), Mary (Millie Brady) Jane (Bella Heathcote) and Kitty (Suki Waterhouse) as they navigate the societal pressures of 19th century England, all while fending off the undead roaming the countryside. Sam Riley, Jack Huston, Douglas Booth, Matt Smith, Charles Dance and Lena Headey also star.

The film is produced by Allison Shearmur, Sean McKittrick, Natalie Portman, Annette Savitch, Marc Butan, Brian Oliver and Tyler Thompson. Exec producing are Lauren Selig, Aleen Keshishian, Ted Hamm and Sue Baden Powell. Screen Gems releases the film in the U.S. on February 5. Have a look and tell us what you think.
