Keshet Studios, the recently launched LA-based subsidiary of Keshet International, is making a further push into unscripted, establishing a new non-scripted programming division with veteran TV producer and media exec Rob Lee at the helm.

Keshet StudiosAs President of Non-Scripted Programming, Lee will develop, grow and establish the company’s non-scripted and alternative programming slate, both through adapting KI’s original premium non-scripted formats as well as developing original projects for the U.S. market and beyond. The announcement was made today by Alon Shtruzman, CEO, Keshet International, to whom Lee will report. Lee will continue to oversee Keshet International’s relationship with dick clark productions and its ongoing projects in the Keshet DCP slate while establishing the non-scripted business for Keshet Studios going forward. Keshet DCP series include Rising Star and BOOM!.

A veteran producer of both non-scripted and scripted programming, Lee is behind such hit series as Millionaire Matchmaker, Randy Jackson Presents: America’s Best Dance Crew, Blowout and Motown Live, among others through his Bayonne Entertainment and Elephant Walk Elephant production banners. Lee previously served as EVP and Worldwide Head of Programming at IMG Global Media, as well as a senior consultant to such entities as Germany’s Pro Sieben Television Network, CORE Media Group, Zodiak Media and UPtv Network, among others. Prior to producing, Lee served as SVP of Film and Television at William Morris Agency, and before that, EVP and Head of Worldwide Television at TRIAD Artists.

Keshet Studios, launched in July, recently entered into a first-look scripted programming deal with NBC Entertainment, which also includes a co-production pact with NBC’s sibling studios, Universal Television. Keshet Studios has access to KI’s current and growing catalogue of over 30 scripted formats and 50 non-scripted formats, as well as future formats to adapt for domestic audiences. Additionally, the company is also charged with creating new formats for the international marketplace via KI.
