NBCUniversal LogosA week before the freshman-season finale of WAGS, E! has ordered a second season of the docuseries about the wives and girlfriends of sports stars. It’s a reality show — natch — which the cable net describes as revolving around “the competitive, fast-paced, and glamorous world of the beautiful, outspoken women who make up an exclusive club of wives and girlfriends of today’s hottest professional athletes. … .  These WAGS are playing the most competitive sport out there: getting and keeping that pro-athlete man.”

“In its freshman debut, WAGS has caught the attention of millions of viewers and become a fan favorite, particularly among young, diverse women,” said Jeff Olde, E!’s EVP Programming & Development. WAGS - Season 1“With the return of the series, viewers will get an even deeper look behind-the-scenes of this exclusive celebrity lifestyle and unique point of view inside the world of sports.”

And, the network notes, “As in sports, this game is all about getting that ‘W,’ and this pack knows how to play the field!”

WAGS‘ rookie season is averaging 762K total viewers and 568K persons 18-49, E! said. The most recent installment topped 600K in the demo, up 5% versus the season to date.
