The years have taught us that there are a number of elements every James Bond movie needs. One, a 007 – in this case, for the fourth time, Daniel Craig plays the British secret agent in Spectre, out later this fall. Among the other necessary components for a Bond movie to be a Bond movie is a high profile theme song and Spectre now has one in Sam Smith’s Writing On The Wall.

Co-written by multiple Grammy winner Smith and long time collaborator Jimmy Napes, the single will be on sale on September 25. Smith had been rumored for ages to be the new Bond singer so today’s announcement doesn’t exactly blow the casino at Monte Carlo.
I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations.

Spectre reunites the Skyfall team of Craig, director Sam Mendes and co-screenwriter John Logan, who has another Bond AKA Timothy Dalton tarring in his Showtime series Penny Dreadful.
