Genre production, finance, and distribution studio Epic Pictures Group has announced the hiring of Robin Jones as its new Development and Production Executive. Jones will be part of the company’s commitment to producing “unique, unconventional, and vision-driven” projects, working closely with directors and writers to bring those projects into production. She’ll work out of the company’s Sunset Blvd. offices, reporting directly to Epic Pictures CEO Patrick Ewald and Co-Founder Shaked Berenson.

PrintJones will be focusing on building an in-house production slate of 6-8 pictures per year, and on identifying high-profile third party acquisitions for Epic Pictures Group’s domestic distribution arm, Epic Pictures Releasing. She is attending Fantastic
Fest this week for that purpose.

Previously at Epicenter Management, where she worked as a Development Executive, Jones also worked in Development at Lin Pictures, simultaneously serving as Production Liaison for Warner Bros.’ The Lego Movie. Before that, she served as creative executive at new media company Fourth Wall Studios, working on the Emmy-winning web series Dirty Work and creating the horror anthology digital series Dark Wall.

Epic Pictures’ recently financed films Turbo Kid, a SXSW Jury Award winner, and Entertainment, a Locarno International Film Festival jury prize winner, both premiered at Sundance 2015. Directed by Rick Alverson, Entertainment stars Gregg Turkington, John C. Reilly, and Michael Cera. Turbo Kid is directed by Anouk Whissell, François Simard, Yoann-Karl Whissell, and stars Aaron Jeffery, Laurence Leboeuf, Michael Ironside, and Munro Chambers. Other Epic Pictures projects include Tales of Halloween, directed by Adam Gierasch, and Big Ass Spider!, directed by Mike Mendez.
