Peter Horton is staying in business with Universal TV. Horton, who has been under a first-look deal with the studio for the past four years, has extended the agreement for another two years. Under the new pact, he will continue to focus on writing and producing in addition to directing.
“We have enjoyed a long standing, fruitful relationship with Peter,” said Universal TV President Bela Bajaria. “He is a talented director, writer and a producer with smart instincts. We look forward to continuing our relationship and to many successful projects ahead.”
Under his most recent deal, Horton co-created and was the executive producer, writer and director of NBC/Uni TV’s America Odyssey. He has directed ten pilots, eight of which have gone to series including Class Of ’96; Birdland; Grey’s Anatomy; American Odyssey; Dirty, Sexy, Money; The Philanthropist; Deception and Ironside. He also developed and was an executive producer of Runner for ABC.
Horton, repped by UTA and Hansen Jacobson, made his feature-film directorial debut with Universal Pictures’ The Cure.
