Following the massive success of his podcast interview with President Obama earlier this summer, Marc Maron’s first premium TV stand up special in 20 years, Marc Maron: More Later has been set for this fall. Here’s a first look at the one-hour special that will make its world television premiere on December 4 at 10 PM ET/PT on EPIX.
Filmed at The Vic Theatre in Chicago, Marc Maron: More Later features Maron discussions religion, relationships, rage, Skype sex and ice cream among other topics in his signature, often uncomfortably honest style.
Since 2009, Maron’s WTF With Marc Maron has been one of the most popular podcasts, due both to Maron’s brutal honest self examination and to his roster of guests, including Louis C.K., Amy Poehler, Lena Dunham, Conan O’Brien, Janeane Garofalo and Chris Rock. In 2012, Time Magazine included Maron in its short list of the “100 Most Influential People.” The WTF appearance by President Obama has been downloaded over 2.3 million times. Maron is also the star, executive producer, and sometimes writer on his IFC series Maron, which recent wrapped up its third season.
Marc Maron: More Later is produced by Avalon Television, directed by Bobcat Goldthwait, and written and performed by Maron. It’s executive produced by Maron, Olivia Wingate and David Martin, co-executive produced by Dan Lubetkin, and co-produced by Whitney Berry. Ross Bernard is the executive producer for EPIX and Valerie Bishop is the production manager for EPIX.
