John Erick Dowdle will direct Six Minutes To Freedom and is writing the script with brother Drew Dowdle. Adaptation of the John Gilstrap novel has been set up by MadRiver Pictures’ Marc Butan, who’ll produce with Drew Dowdle, Sam Franco, and Laura Bickford. Ed Fee will be executive producing. It’s an action thriller based on the true story of Kurt Muse, an American, who in 1989 was imprisoned for broadcasting a pirate radio station that propagated dissent against Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega. Pic is about the saga of his rescue from prison by the U.S. Delta Force. Muse is the first and only American civilian rescued by the elite special force. The Dowdles are coming off the Owen Wilson-starrer No Escape. They are repped by WME.
