EuropaCorp has partnered with FilmNation to produce the political thriller Miss Sloane, which John Madden will direct and Jessica Chastain will star in. The topic is hot button stuff, the issue of gun control. Script is by Jonathan Perera. Pic shoots in March. Ben Browning will produce for FilmNation and Patrick Chu will be the executive producer. EuropaCorp will fully finance the film and handle worldwide distribution. The company just launched its distribution pipeline RED in the U.S.

Chastain plays a powerful lobbyist who sacrifices her career on Federal Hill in order to successfully pass an amendment enforcing stricter gun control laws. Madden and Chastain previously teamed in The Debt.

“The film’s subject matter of gun control is an incredibly important issue in today’s world,” said EuropaCorp CEO Christophe Lambert. “John Madden and Jessica Chastain bring with them such a high level of artistry, making Miss Sloane a perfect addition to the EuropaCorp slate.”

“We at FilmNation are excited to be partnering with EuropaCorp,” said Glen Basner CEO FilmNation. “And we are thrilled to see John Madden and Jessica Chastain working together again on what we know will be a highly entertaining and thought provoking film.” UTA Independent Film Group represented FilmNation. UTA and Management SGC’s Scott Carr rep Perera; CAA reps Chastain and Madden and Mosaic reps Chastain also.
