Jason Momoa will swap out his Aquaman suit for a lumberjack shirt for Braven, set to star in the action thriller being directed by Lin Oeding. The casting sets up its sales plan for the upcoming Toronto Film Festival, where Highland Film Group handling will handle international sales.

The pic, scripted by Thomas Pa’a Sibbett from an original story by Mike Nilon, centers a humble logger residing along the U.S./Canada border who is confronted by a group of deadly drug runners in his secluded cabin in the mountains, and he must do everything in his power to protect his family. Momoa and Brian Mendoza’s Pride of Gypsies is producing alongside Nilon and Molly Hassell.

Warner Bros has already set the Conan The Barbarian and Game Of Thrones star to play their sea-dwelling superhero in Aquaman, eyeing a 2018 release date. James Wan is directing this portion of the DC Entertainment slate that includes the upcoming Batman Vs. Superman, Wonder Woman and the Justice League films.

Momoa is repped by Agency for the Performing Arts and LINK Entertainment.
