The first trailer for Sundance hit James White is here – prepare for feelings. Starring Christopher Abbott, Cynthia Nixon and Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi, the film is a coming-of-age story about a young New Yorker whose self-destructive tendencies run up against his need to support his mother as she struggles with terminal illness. In the official trailer, we get a long look at that, particularly the way Abbot’s character’s heavy drug use seeps into what’s actually happening in his life.

The feature debut of writer-director Josh Mond also stars Makenzie Leigh, Ron Livingston and David Call. Antonio Campos, Sean Durkin, and Melody C. Roscher produced. Distributor Film Arcade is convinced is has something special here, and is getting behind it aggressively with plans for a high profile awards campaign for both Nixon and Abbot. Meantime, James White is making the festival rounds, including the Toronto International Film Festival, in advance of a November 13, 2015 theatrical release.
