Coalition Group has set Boardwalk Empire‘s Shea Whigham and The Witch‘s Anya Taylor-Joy to star star in Huntsville, a 2014 Black List script by Anthony Ragnone that will be directed by Eric England (Contracted). The Witch plays the Toronto Film Festival tomorrow after premiering at Sundance and getting bought by A24. Huntsville centers on Hank (Whigham), a solitary man living a dull existence in the sleepy, Southern town of Sebring, FL. Eyebrows are raised when he develops a questionable relationship with Josie (Taylor-Joy), a recently transplanted high school student.
Aside from The Witch, Taylor-Joy wrapped the Luke Scott-directed Morgan for Fox opposite Kate Mara and Paul Giamatti. Wigham starred in the Focus Features Sundance pic Cop Car. England recently completed Get The Girl, which he directed. It was a script the law school grad and former agency assistant wrote while working for True Blood creator Alan Ball. The Coalition Group’s Luisa Iskin and Johnny Wunder will produce, with production to begin in March.
Coalition Group has several projects percolating, including 7 Boxes, the remake of the Paraguayan pic that Tyson W. Johnston is directing. Troika and attorney Fred Toczek rep Taylor-Joy; CAA and Gotham/Principal represent Whigham; Gersh, Manus Entertainment and attorney Joseph Weiner rep England; and Gersh and Jackoway Tyerman rep Ragnone.
