Allison Tolman (Fargo) and Michaela Watkins have both joined the untitled Will Ferrell/Amy Poehler comedy formerly known as The House. Currently filming in Los Angeles, the film is about parents who accidentally spend the money set aside for their daughter’s college tuition. Desperate, they open an underground casino and recruit their friends and neighbors to help run it. They join Ryan Simpkins, Jason Mantzoukas, Rob Heubel, Nick Kroll, and Cedric Yarbrough. Tolman plays a no-nonsense financial advisor, while Watkins plays Mantzoukas’ character’s soon to be ex-wife, who wants to divorce but can’t because he won’t sign the papers.

Tolman can currently be seen in The Gift, and on her upcoming slate is Universal’s horror-comedy Krampus. Other credits include Hello Ladies: The Movie, The Mindy Project, Archer, Review and Comedy Bang! Bang!. She’s repped by Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment and United Talent Agency.

Michaela Watkins will soon be seen in her upcoming Hulu series Casual (Jason Reitman directs/produces), and played Rhonda in David Wain’s Wet Hot American Summer: First Day Of Camp. She’s repped by Haven Entertainment, UTA and Patty Felker.

LBJ & Lady BirdRob Reiner’s presidential biopic LBJ has begun filming in New Orleans, and has filled out its cast as well. The film follows Lyndon Johnson’s political career from his days as Senate Majority Leader, to his becoming President in the wake of JFK’s assassination, through his battle to win the office outright the next year, his tumultuous presidency, and culminating in his decision not to seek reelection in 1968. Woody Harrelson stars as LBj, with Brent Bailey as Kennedy speechwriter Ted Sorenson. John Burke as Texas Gov. John Connally, Brian Stepanek as Secret Service agent Rufus Youngblood, Rich Sommer as Press Secretary Pierre Salinger, Tim Ransom as Larry O’Brien, Judd Lormand as Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara and Michael Mosley as political operative Kenny O’Donnell.

Rounding out the cast is Richard Jenkins as Senator Richard Russell, Bill Pullman as Texas Senator Ralph Yarborough, Doug McKeon as Hubert Humphrey, Jeffrey Donovan as President John F. Kennedy, Kim Allen as Jacqueline Kennedy, Michael Stahl-David as Bobby Kennedy, and Jennifer Jason Leigh as Lady Bird Johnson. The film is written by Joey Hartstone, and produced by Acacia Entertainment, Savvy Media Holdings, Castle Rock Entertainment and Star Thrower Entertainment. Reiner produces along with Matthew George, Liz Glotzer, Michael R. Williams, Tim White and Trevor White. Martin Shafer, Elizabeth A. Bell, Danny Roth, Damiano Tucci, Michael Tadross Jr., Chris Conover and Julie May executive produce. It is filming primarily in New Orleans, with key scenes to be shot in Dallas.
