Music production company Megatrax has launched A-List Music, a new division focused on exclusive licensing of original compositions for movie trailers and film marketing campaigns. As part of the initial launch, 25 prominent composers in film, television and video games have signed on to contribute original music to the endeavor. JC Dwyer will serve as A-List’s executive producer and creative director.
At launch, A-List Music has made available six albums containing 60 custom cues total for use in movie trailers, plus an additional 50 tracks of sound design elements. Each of the compilations are themed for different genres and moods, emphasizing hybrid tension thriller, cinematic hybrid metal, epic action and adventure, musical percussion and sound design, and trailer sound design elements. A-List Music is also offering track customization and original custom scoring for movie advertising campaigns.
The tracks were recorded by a 300 piece orchestra made up of a 90-piece string section, 30-piece brass section, and 90-voice choir, with tracks further built upon 50 live percussion instruments.
Among the composers who contributed to the first selection of compositions are: 10-time Emmy winner Bruce Broughton, nominated for an Oscar for the score to Silverado; Grammy-award winner Jeff Carruthers; Emmy-award winning Pushing Daisies composer Jim Dooley; prolific film and video games composer Ryan Andrews; Orchestrator Peter Bateman; Mark Denis, composer for theatrical campaigns on World War Z, Iron Man 3, Zero Dark Thirty, and The Avengers; and producer, and three-time Emmy winning composer Eddie Wohl.
Other composers signed with A-List Music include Robert Allaire, Jeff Atmajian, Zain Effendi, Craig Stuart Garfinkle, Randy Gist, Benoit Grey, Jesper Kyd, M.B. Gordy, Todd Haberman, Yoshiro Hayata, Sergio Jimenez, Gerard K. Marino, Garry Schyman, Jack Wall, Sunna Wehrmeijer, Nathan Whitehead, Steve E. Williams, and Derek Jones.
A-List Music tracks are available for exclusive licenses on a first-run basis, including custom edits and rewrites. The official site went live this morning.
