Yolonda Ross has joined the cast of Baz Luhrmann’s music-driven Netflix drama The Get Down. Set in 1970s New York City, the series — a longtime passion project for Luhrmann — revolves around a ragtag crew of South Bronx teenagers who are wild in the streets; they’re nothings and nobodies with no one to shelter them, except one another. Ross will recur as Ms. Green, the caring but tough English teacher who nurtures the potential in her students and advocates for them to pursue their talents. Ross recently wrapped Ana Lily Amirpour’s Bad Batch. Her upcoming films include Lila And Eve and Meadowlands. She’s repped by Brio Entertainment and Sanders Armstrong Caserta Management.

Chris Petrovski is set as a recurring for the second season of CBS drama series Madam Secretary. Petrovski will play Dmitri, a bright and sincere young Russian military cadet who’s attending the National War College in the U.S. He is a patriot whose first allegiance is to Mother Russia. Petrovski’s other TV credits include Spartacus and Legend Of The Seekers. His film work includes Coldwater and All Cheerleaders Die. He’s repped by House of Representatives.
