Douglas Smith (Big Love) has booked a recurring role on HBO’s rock ‘n’ roll drama series Vinyl, from Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger and Terence Winter. It’s slated to premiere in 2016.

The 10-episode series set in 1970s New York explores the sex- and drug-addled music business at the dawn of punk, disco and hip-hop. Bobby Cannavale stars as record label president Richie Finestra, who is trying to save his company and his soul without destroying everyone in his path. Smith will play Xavier, a naive and ethereal keyboardist in the party band, Karisma.

Smith, repped by Paradigm, More/Medavoy and attorney Alex Kohner at Morris Yorn, played Ben Henrickson on HBO’s long-running Big Love most recently appeared in Terminator: Genisys. His other feature credits include Ouija and Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters.
