In the wake of a solid Season 2 premiere, Adult Swim has picked up a third season of animated comedy series Rick And Morty. Created and exec produced by Dan Harmon (Community) and Justin Roiland, Rick And Morty centers on a sociopathic scientist who drags his dim grandson on adventures across the universe.
The series’ Season 2 premiere on July 26 ranked No. 1 in its time period among all key adults and men. It also saw triple-digit gains over its Season 1 premiere, up 154% P18-24, up 117% P18-34, and up 121% P18-49. From Week 1 to Week 2 the series saw a gain of up to 27% among all key demos, according to Nielsen.
In Season 2, Rick Sanchez (Roiland) is still living with the family of his daughter Beth (Sarah Chalke) and causing more trouble than ever. This season the rest of the clan — son-in-law Jerry (Chris Parnell), granddaughter Summer (Spencer Grammer) and grandson Morty (Roiland) — are pulled into Rick’s intergalactic adventures as he faces new threats, while meanwhile the mysteries of a secret past are revealed.
New episodes air Sundays at 11:30 PM on Adult Swim.
