The 2015-16 NBA schedule is out, and SoCal basketball fans had better be sure the Christmas parties end early this year. Amid the eggnog and mistletoe, ESPN will air the Lakers-Clippers battle on December 25 at 7:30 PM (you know this means Pacific time, haters). The game will cap a Christmas Day marathon of five matchups over 13 hours on ESPN and ABC — broken up by the half-hour NBA Countdown on ABC. The hardwood hardball starts at 9 AM PT with the New Orleans-Miami game and moving though Chicago-Oklahoma City, the NBA Finals rematch of Cleveland vs. champion Golden State and the Battle of Texas between San Antonio and Houston.
NBA Saturday Night On ABC will feature premiere January 23 and feature eight games, capping with LeBron James’s Cleveland Cavaliers at Derrick Rose’s Chicago Bulls. The Clippers hosting Golden State is one of them, but the last-place-last-year Lakers are not. Also of interest to Clipper Nation is the team’s November 11 matchup on ESPN with the Dallas Mavericks — the team LA’s DeAndre Jordan pledged to join during the offseason, before realizing he’d be leaving Southern California for North Texas and returning to the fold. Lakers faithful can look forward to an October 28 match with Minnesota that will showcase the top two picks in the 2015 NBA Draft: Karl-Anthony Towns of the Timberwolves and L.A.’s D’Angelo Russell. Oh, and the Lakers should get some help from a rehabilitated — and likely highly motivated — Kobe Bryant.
