EXCLUSIVE: Warm Bodies helmer Jonathan Levine has been offered and is in early talks to direct the Fox film that Amy Schumer hopes to make her follow-up to the summer hit Trainwreck. The film’s an untitled mother-daughter relationship story that takes place on a vacation gone wrong. It was scripted by Katie Dippold and is inspired by her relationship with her mother. The film is being produced by Paul Feig’s Feigco and Chernin Entertainment, with Dippold the exec producer.
Levine has been looking at several projects — an adaptation of the celebrated docu Brooklyn Castle is among them — as his next, and he was one of the helmers courted for the next iteration of Spider-Man. He also is set to direct the Jim Carrey comedy pilot I’m Dying Up Here for Showtime. He’s repped by CAA
