EXCLUSIVE: It doesn’t feel like a lot is happening in movies, but the movement of agents continues. Craig Bernstein, a longtime below-the-line agent at ICM Partners, is in the process of making a jump to UTA. There are plenty of clients in the mix here (they operate under the radar, but make a lot of money), and there is Anthony McCarten and Lisa Bruce. He wrote the script for the Oscar-winning Stephen and Jane Hawking film The Theory Of Everything, and they produced the film together. Both are in play, and I hear the list of Bernstein’s clients moving over so far does include Bruce (Bernstein introduced Bruce and McCarten, I’m told).

Among other Bernstein clients making the jump so far include producer Marc Bienstock; exec producer Mike Drake; production designers Richard Hoover, Udo Kramer and Drew Boughton; cinematographer Gonzalo Amat; costume designers Susie DeSanto, Angus Strathie and Eduardo Castro; and 1st ADs Myron Hoffert, Richard Fox and Don Murphy.

Both agencies have thriving below-the-line departments (UTA calls its unit, run by Pete Franciosa, the Production Department). ICM insiders think they’ll keep most of the below-the-line clients, who are repped by several agents. We’ll let you know who went where after the dust settles.
