Carmel Musgrove, associate producer and assistant to Joel Silver, has died while vacationing with Silver, his family and Silver Pictures employees in Bora Bora. She was 28.

Musgrove was found dead on the beach Thursday morning. Authorities believe she drowned, but an autopsy has yet to be performed.

A spokesperson for Silver says Musgrove’s friends started searching for her after attempts to reach her on Wednesday were unsuccessful. After an extensive search, authorities were called and the body was found on the beach Thursday morning.

Musgrove began her association with Silver as an intern at Silver Pictures. She became his assistant after six months, and had worked for him for more than three years at the time of her death. She also served as an associate producer on Silver Pictures films Non-Stop, The Gunman and Nice Guys.

“Joel Silver, his family and his staff are devastated by the passing of Carmel Musgrove. Carmel was a dear friend and respected colleague with a very bright future ahead of her. They will all miss her dearly,” said the Silver spokesperson in a statement.
