Another week of scrambled fast national ratings due to NFL preemptions, which affected Fox, NBC and ABC. CBS’ Big Brother (2.1 in adults 18-49, 6.64 million viewers) was up +11% in 18-49, recovering from the drop last week, to match its best Thursday demo delivery in Live+same day. The reality staple also was up +9% in total viewers to set a season high. Under The Dome (0.8, 4.19 million) was flat in 18-49 and up +12% in viewers. CBS is poised to win the night in 18-49 and total viewers.
The CW’s Beauty And The Beast (0.2) was down a tenth from last week to tie a Live+same day series low.
For now, the finale of ABC’s Astronaut Wives Club (0.7) and a new Mistresses (0.8) are both running a tenth higher than last week, while Rookie Blue (0.6) is flat. ABC’s preemption was in a smaller market, the No. 51 Buffalo.
The impact was bigger on Fox and NBC’s ratings, as Fox was preempted in a Top 10 market, No.9 Washington DC, while NBC was replaced by football in two Top 20 markets, No.11 Detroit and N0. 17 Cleveland.
The inflated fast national ratings for the network’s entertainment offerings are 0.7 (+40%) for Fox’s Boom! and 1.1 (+57%) and 1.4 (+56%) for NBC’s Food Fighters and Dateline Mystery, respectively.
