Police in the Georgia city where Sleepy Hollow is filming arrested three youths in the kidnapping and sexual assault of a female security guard who was working on the set of Fox’s fantasy drama series.
Police in Conyers, GA, arrested the three suspects in the assault July 23 and they face armed robbery, kidnapping, false imprisonment, financial card fraud, carjacking and weapons charges. More charges may be forthcoming. According to reports, the victim was guarding the show’s set when her attackers forced her into the trunk of her BMW and drove her to a Bank of America branch, forcing her to withdraw cash from an ATM machine. They then drove her to a nearby park and sexually assaulted her at gunpoint. She was finally released and managed to walk to a gas station, where she called police.
A Fox official said the guard was not employed by the company but was a subcontractor hired to guard the base camp. The series from producer 20th Century Fox TV had shot its first two seasons in North Carolina, but moved to Georgia to take advantage of the state’s better film tax credits after it was renewed for a third season in March.
In a separate incident, a female Sleepy Hollow camera assistant broke her ankle Monday during production when a heavy piece of equipment rolled over her foot. She was taken to the hospital and is now recovering, and “production resumed after the incident,” a company spokesman said today.
The new season of Sleepy Hollow premieres October 1 after the show was shifted to Thursdays.
