Dancing With The Stars winner Rumer Willis will make her Broadway debut on August 18, when she joins the cast of Chicago, the long-running revival at the Shubert-owned Ambassador Theatre. Willis will play jailed murderess Roxie Hart in the show for a limited 8-week run thorough October 11.
Willis’ previous stage credits include Love, Loss And What I Wore (Off-Broadway); For the Record Live’s Dear John Hughes, Baz Luhrmann’s DBA and FTR: Tarantino. She’s appeared on the television shows Workaholics, Pretty Little Liars, Hawaii 5-0, and more, and in films including House Bunny, Sorority Row, and Diary Of Preston Plummer.
Now in its 19th year at the Ambassador, the Kander & Ebb show currently stars Brandy Norwood as Roxie (through August 2), Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Ivan Hernandez as Billy Flynn, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Matron “Mama” Morton and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.
The production was staged by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie and choreographed by Tony Award winner Ann Reinking, with set design by John Lee Beatty, costume design by Tony Award winner William Ivey Long, lighting design by Tony Award winner Ken Billington and sound design by Scott Lehrer. It’s produced by Barry and Fran Weissler.
