Lifetime has dropped the first photos (see above and below) of The Unauthorized Full House Story — its original movie based on the long-running ’90s Full House sitcom set to premiere Saturday, August 22. The Unauthorized Full House Story centers on the rise of the cast of the popular sitcom and the pressures they faced in balancing their television personas with their real lives. Justin Gaston, Justin Mader, Stephanie Bennett, Shelby Armstrong, Brittney Wilson, Dakota Guppy, Jordyn Olson, Blaise and Kinslea Todd, and Aislyn Watson, and Jaime Schneider star.
The network is getting out ahead of, and perhaps building on the hype of Netflix’s Fuller House, which will star original Uncle Jesse John Stamos, along with original series stars including Bob Saget, Lori Loughlin, and Dave Coulier. It’s set for a 2016 premiere on Netflix.
The Unauthorized Full House Story is produced by Front Street Pictures and Bay Road Productions. Harvey Kahn (Flowers in the Attic) and Stephen Bulka (The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story) executive produce. Brian K. Roberts (An En Vogue Christmas) directs from a teleplay written by Ron McGee (Rizzoli & Isles).
